Seth Jones heads to the locker room during the Winter Classic against the Rangers

The The Florida Panthers and New York Rangers are currently battling it out in the 2026 Winter Classic The NHL’s outdoor marquee competition makes its southernmost trip this year. And it’s sure to be a quality game between two teams looking for the postseason. Unfortunately, Florida may be without quarterback Seth Jones.

Jones was seen leaving the ice at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida. It is currently unclear why the Panther defenseman left the ice. Regardless, he went down to one of the dugouts, heading for the locker room. With Jones out, Aaron Ekblad and Jeff Petry seem to have stepped up in the defensive pairings.
