Several signs point to Nikola Vucevic staying at the trade deadline

Lately, the rumor out of Chicago is that they are the Bulls may be asking to re-sign Nikola Vucevic. The NBA trade deadline February 5th is fast approaching. Since it is rumors are usually mentioned like Kobe White, Vucevic has was neglected.
However, Taurus, for the sake of argument, gave more value on Vucevic; therefore, they are more open to keeping him, according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel. Currently, Vucevic is in the final year of his three-year, $60 million contract.
Recently, Vucevic is averaging 17.0 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in 42 games. Meanwhile, the Bulls are 21-22 and 9th in the Eastern Conference. However, some believe that the Bulls should trade Vucevic.
One of them is Jake Fisher from The Stein Line on Substack. In his film “The People’s Insider”, Fisher presents an argument that the Bulls would let Vucevic play out his final year. Then, become a free agent in the offseason and join a team in need of a starting center.
“It makes sense for the Bulls to look at possible centers of the future, knowing that Nikola Vucevic is in the final year of his contract,” Fisher wrote. “Several sources this week emphasized that it is unlikely that Vucevic will be resolved before the deadline.”
“Vucevic, should he become free agency this summer after playing out his three-year deal with the Bulls, is believed to draw a lot of interest from teams looking at a longtime starter who is believed to be open to a more complementary role in the right situation … much like Al Horford was during last summer’s free agency.”
Vucevic (35) has been with the Bulls since the 2020-2021 season.
