Shad Khan’s statement on Jaguars hiring Liam Coen after a wild 72 hours

It was a crazy 72 hours for Jacksonville Jaguars such as they are got its next head coach, Liam Cohen. Signs pointed to Cohen returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to become one of the highest-paid offensive coordinators, but it appears he decided to join the Jaguars after more consideration.
Jaguar owner Shad Khan recently issued a statement regarding Coen’s signing and his excitement about leading the team.
“To reiterate my message earlier this week, I am deeply committed to creating winners here in Jacksonville,” Kahn said in a statement. “I also believe that I am judged by my actions, not my words.” That’s why I took swift and decisive action this week to hire Liam Cohen as the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. I am delighted that Liam is accepting the challenge and opportunity to build the winner that Jaguars fans and partners fully deserve. I know our players feel the same way.”
The next task for Cohen is to build the staff, find out what they will do in the draft and sign players in free agency that they think can help the team.

Liam Cohen agrees to be Jaguars next coach
Liam Cohen verbally agreed to return to the Buccaneers as their offensive coordinator, but things changed after he had telephone conversation with head coach Todd Bowlesaccording to Sports Illustrated reporter Albert Breer.
“At 5 p.m. (Thursday), Cohen called Bowles and told him he was still dealing with his personal matters.” He also told him that things had changed significantly in Jacksonville and that he would travel there to investigate an opening,” Breer said. “Within an hour of that phone call, someone at the Jaguars facility notified a Bucs employee that Cohen was already in the building.”
From there, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Cohen would be the Jaguars’ next coach, and now the Buccaneers will have to find who will be their new offensive coordinator.
