Shai Gilgeous-Alexander breaks the silence during a home invasion
OKLAHOMA CITY — After Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went a perfect 7-0 after Sunday’s 137-106 win against the New Orleans Pelicans, he talked about the burglary that happened at his home in Nichols Hill, Oklahoma. Gilgeous-Alexander’s home was broken into on Thursday.
Gilgeous-Alexander spoke briefly about the incident after Sunday’s win against the New Orleans Pelicans.
“Long story short: everybody’s safe. And that’s all that really matters in the whole thing,” Gilgeus-Alexander said. “Everything else may come and go, but my loved ones are safe. So I’m fine. I’m happy.”
Gilgeous-Alexander led eight Thunder players with 30 points in their 31-point win over the Pelicans. He connected on 8 of 14 attempts, seven assists and one steal. Wiggins scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and Cason Wallace added 13 points and five steals.
The break-in at Gilgeous-Alexander’s home is believed to have occurred during the Thunder’s win against the Washington Wizards at the Pike Center on Thursday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hits 100 after Thunder starts 7-0

Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looked back on a 7-0 start that mirrors last year’s historic start as the defending champions have a chance to once again cement the best start in franchise history. Playing without starters Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, Gilgeous-Alexander says the Thunder have shown significant growth from the start of last season to now.
“It feels like we’re a better team. Honestly, it’s like we’ve had a year to get better,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “The staff hasn’t changed much from a couple of starters. From the beginning of last year, we had a year to get better, to learn each other on and off the field, and it seems like we’ve had the advantage of that this season. And honestly, we’re dealing with some injuries early in the year.
“But because we’ve gotten better, 1-15, guys in the locker room, we’re able to plug in and play, and figure it out on the fly, we’re still having good results. We’re definitely a better team than we were a year ago.”
The Thunder, who will have a chance to make franchise history in the form of an 8-0 start, will begin their four-game road trip against the Clippers on Tuesday.
