Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s feat praises “relentless” Marc Daigneault
Oklahoma. and home – Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander extended his streak of 20+ 100-point streak in 119-103 win over Memphis Grizzlies, prompting reaction from coaches Mark Daigneault. Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting, including 3-for-4 from deep, to lead the Thunder to their 26th win of the regular season.
After the game, Daigneault praised Gilgeous-Alexander for consistent approach that the Thunder head coach acknowledges that most are unnoticed, but not Daigneault, he said.
“Commitment to the game, to his craft, to the team — he’s always a character in those things,” Daigneault said. “He’s relentlessly consistent in the invisible areas that I see that you guys don’t, and there’s probably 100 more that I don’t see that he’s taken care of. But it’s no accident that he’s the player that he is. He’s literally carved himself into this player.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is closing in on Wilt Chamberlain’s streak

After the Thunder All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s second longest streak of 20+ point games (92), is looking at first, which is 126 consecutive games. While Gilgeous-Alexander still has a ways to go, seeing him surpass one streak and enter the 100-game plateau for another is a pretty impressive feat for the league’s reigning MVP.
In the midst of a 26-3 start for the defending champions, Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder will travel to face the Spurs for the second night of back-to-back games on Tuesday.
