Shak’s Stephen Curry GOAT mic drop

On Sunday night, The NBA All-Star game was held from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, home of the Clippers. Although he was voted the starter, Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry was unable to take part in the festivities as he recovers from a knee injury, although that didn’t stop him from pulling off an epic trick before the game started.
Curry is approaching 38 years old, but remains among the best players in the NBA today, and more recently, a basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal had high praise for the future Hall of Famer.
In a segment he did with overtime, O’Neal was given a picture of several NBA legends and asked to speak when he saw a better player than Curry. O’Neal didn’t speak throughout the segmentdespite seeing pictures of several all-time greats, including none other than himself.
Finally, the big man wrapped it up by saying, “Steph is the GOAT,” per Instagram extension.
O’Neal has long been known as one of Curry’s most outspoken supporters in the NBA media landscape, which serves as a stark contrast to his frequent criticism of big men in the league today.
In a vacuum, it makes sense that O’Neal would be enamored with Curry’s ability to shoot the ball from distance, given his own struggles with dunks from outside the box, and Curry’s longevity should also be appreciated, as he’s playing at a level somewhat comparable to his prime as he nears his 20th year in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Warriors shook things up a bit at the recent NBA trade deadline by trading for Atlanta Hawks big man Kristaps Porzingis, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough to propel them to contender status outside the West.
The Warriors take the floor Thursday against the Boston Celtics.
