Shaq pushes Karl-Anthony Towns back and forth intensely

On Saturday night, New York Knicks he returned to the win column with excitement beat the Houston Rockets at Madison Square Garden. Despite a deficit of as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter, c The Knicks were clawing their way back and ended up winning the game, shutting down Houston’s offensive attack down the stretch.

It was a strong game for the Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Townswho scored 25 points with seven rebounds in the win.

After the game, Towns joined ESPN’s Inside the NBA for an interview, and Shaquille O’Neal had an interesting back and forth with the Knicks big man.

“If you guys win a chip, of course they’re going to talk about Brunson, but it’s you and your game. You have to be dominant. You played well,” O’Neal told Hoopship.

“They can talk about anybody as long as we get a ring, that’s the most important thing,” Towns said.

“No, you have to play great. You’re part of that 1-2 punch,” Shaq countered.

“Hell yeah, but the main goal is to win, it doesn’t matter who gets the credit,” Towns replied.

“No, you have to play great to get credit,” Shk added.

O’Neal has long been known as a critic of centers in today’s NBA, and some fans have speculated that jealousy or spite may play a role in his disdain.

Perhaps O’Neal’s point-first attitude was part of what made him so dominant, but also why he’s considered a relative underachiever, given his insane natural talent, in recent NBA history.

Towns, meanwhile, has faced accusations of being “soft” earlier in his career, but he’s always put the team before himself, which has continued into his time with the Knicks.

New York will try to make it two wins in a row when they next hit the floor on Sunday against the Chicago Bulls.
