Somehow the player was not sent off after attempting a header on the official side

Number 15 The Michigan Wolverines take over No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes in the final week of the college football season. It’s one of the biggest rivalries in the nation because things can go bad at any moment. The incident already happened early in the contest, but it was between a Wolverine player and one of the officials.

After Michigan’s defense stopped defending the goal line, linebacker Jayson Barham got into an argument with one of the referees. Barham then pushed his helmet forward at the officer in what appeared to be an attempted headbutt. It didn’t work, but the referees threw the flag anyway.

The penalty was unsportsmanlike conduct. It’s Barham’s first of the game, and if he gets another one, he’ll be ejected. Shockingly enough, officials didn’t feel the need to immediately eject Michigan’s senior quarterback.

With one quarter over, this game is already full of drama. On top of Michigan’s attempted header, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sain has already thrown an interception. The Wolverines are playing the Buckeyes well early in this contest, as they have a 6-3 lead in the second quarter.

Hopefully there are no more incidents between players and officials and everyone can focus on the game at hand. Michigan aims to succeed a big problem right before the Conference Championship. If the Wolverines can defeat the Buckeyes on Saturday, it would be the program’s fifth straight win over their archrival.
