Spurs, Rockets to join Thunder in not pursuing Giannis trade

Milwaukee The Bucks have not yet made Giannis Antetokounmpo availablebut for some reason, it seems to be more of a thing when rather if. There will be a list of teams looking to acquire Antetokounmpo, and they will believe they have the best package to get him. On the other hand, there are teams that actually have pieces to make a competitive trade, but don’t plan to go afterwards Bucks star, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
“There is a growing belief among trackers that San Antonio and Houston, like Oklahoma City, do not plan to join the pursuit of Antetokounmpo even if the Bucks ultimately decide to consider in-season offers for their two-time MVP. All three teams, as you can imagine, love what’s going on,” Stein wrote.
The The Thunder was mentioned as one of the teams it might go in Antetokounmpo, but it was basically an NBA 2K scenario, according to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.
“The Thunder are not going to be in those conversations. I can say that with a lot of confidence. Any speculation that the Thunder will trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo is just one of those 2K scenarios where the NBA giants get better. It’s not going to happen. Sam Presti has a clear timeline for how they work,” Siegel said.
As for Spurs, they don’t really need to trade Antetokounmpo either, especially because of the way they’ve played this season. They have a good, young core that will be good for years to come, and with Victor Vembanjam leading that group, the sky is the limit.
The Rockets would also have a nice package for the Bucks, but they would have to give up several of their key pieces, which would hurt their depth. Any team looking to trade for Antetokounmpo knows it will take a lot to get a deal done, which is probably why they’re turning heads.
