Steph Curry describes a wonderful moment with her son
For those who play in the NBA, basketball becomes a job. However, for Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Currywhen looking at a former teammate Klay Thompson have a vintage appearance for the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson’s new team, it got personal for Curry.
In an ESPN exclusive between Curry, Thompson and the Warriors Draymond GreenCurry shared a moment he had with his son Canon Curry. While watching the game in the middle A frustrating season for Thompson and the MavericksCurry cheered on his former teammate, drawing his son’s attention.
“Clay play?” Canon asked his father. “Why are you here?”
Curry had to remind his son that Thompson was on another team now. Sure, it may seem like a simple reminder. However, for Curry, it was also a reminder of the impact of Thompson not playing for Golden State.
“Those are the moments that hit,” Curry said. “Things have evolved in life. But there are reminders of how special a thing it was, and also reminders of how unfortunate … the reality of what it is now.”
A brotherhood of Warriors that is bigger than basketball

For twelve seasons, Curry and Thompson shared the floor in Golden State, forming the legendary Splash Brothers Warriors duo. However, Curry, along with Green, still wishes the Warriors trio were still together. Recently, Green saw a graphic that referred to him and Curry as the longest-tenured duo in the league. In response, all Green could do was shake his head.
“It should be a trio,” Green told ESPN. “That’s strange to me.”
Regardless, the former Golden State trio remains close. However, that doesn’t change the fact that Thompson, unfortunately, is now the enemy when facing Curry, Green and the Warriors on the court, something Curry doesn’t find easy at times.
“I wish he was still here,” Curry continued.
The next time Curry and Green face Thompson and the Mavericks is when Golden State hosts Dallas on Christmas Day. There will be a lot of emotion during the matchup, especially whenever Curry and Thompson hit the perimeter.
