Stephen Curry is out for at least a week with a quad injury

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Curry will “miss about a week or so,” as it deals with quad contusion. Curry is averaging 27.9 points, four assists and 3.7 rebounds per game so far this season while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from the bench in 16 games.

“The Golden State Warriors expect Stephen Curry to miss about a week or so with a quad contusion suffered Wednesday night, sources and (Anthony Slater) tell me. He is believed to have avoided any serious issues,” Charania wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Return will depend on how the quad responds to treatment.”

Curry was injured in Wednesday night’s 104-100 loss to the Houston Rockets, but while the 37-year-old will reportedly miss some time, the team thinks it could have been a lot worse.

With Curry leaves late in Warriors loss to Rockets in the game with a quad injury led to a good reaction from Kerr after the game during his postgame press conference. According to ESPN’s Anthony Slater, Kerr revealed that he did “relieved” when he heard that it was a quad injury and not other areas.

“When I heard it was a quad, I was really relieved. Better than an ankle or a knee,” Kerr said, according to Reuters.

Now, there’s no denying that with Curry out for at least a week, the lineups and rotations are different.

“If Steph has to miss (time)?” Kerr said. “It obviously changes everything – our rotations, how we play, who we play through. We’ll see.”

Either way, Golden State is 10-10 in what many believe is a disappointing start, as the team has lost four of its last five games. However, Jimmy Butler and company are looking to get back into the winning column on Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
