Stephen Curry receives a message from Carmelo Anthony amid sneaker free agency
After Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry called himself an agent without sneakersHall of Fame hitter Carmelo Anthony weighed potential options for the brand. Anthony believes Curry can do whatever he wants, given his popularity and marketability.
Anthony talked about companies that would be happy to sign Call for a new deal, 7pm in Brooklyn.
“I want to see Steph take his brand, the Curry Brand, and continue to build it now because you’ve put yourself in a position with that brand,” Anthony said. “You can take that Under Armor brand, get $400-$500 million for the brand. You can go do it. Nike, Adidas, Reebok; somebody. And everybody would be willing to do it because the business makes sense. Now, you own this. This is yours.”
Curry could start his own line of shoes without having to sign with a major company.
“I don’t need Nike, I don’t need Adidas. I don’t need that. I’m going to get one of these financial investors. One of these companies, and go raise money to continue to have my brand as an independent curry brand,” Anthony added. “My brand was part of Jordan, which was part of Nike. LeBron’s brand was part of Nike. KD’s brand was part of Nike. Anthony Edwards’ brand was part of Adidas. AI was Reebok.
“Steph Curry’s brand is completely different than all those other brands. Steph is in golf. Steph is in home stuff. Steph is everywhere. Not just basketball. You can take that brand and create a whole other s*** or continue that brand if you go independent.”
“I want to see Steph take the Curry brand and continue to build it… This is yours.

Carmelo Anthony on Stephen Curry’s Warriors brand

Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry has hinted at his under armor background before it became official. Hall of Fame forward Carmelo Anthony believes Curry can become his own brand, comparing Steph’s popularity to Hollywood stars such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“Why should I be with a competitor when I can be myself? It depends on how he looks at it,” Anthony said. “Maybe he looks at it like I can use the machine that Nike is going to put behind their brand. But then again, you’re the Curry brand. To me, the Curry brand is like the Dwayne Johnson brand. Like, The Rock brand. That’s what I think about the Curry brand. It’s a great brand.”
Curry and the Warriors will host the Trail Blazers on Friday.
