Stephen Curry’s gift to former teammate after Bucks game

VThe Golden State Warriors had its two-game winning streak snapped on Thursday with a 120-110 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were without their star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo who is sidelined with a knee injury. But it was the former Warrior who sunk Golden State like Ryan Rollins dropped a record 32 points. Stephen Curry had a team-high 27 points, but was overshadowed by his former teammate.

Even so, Stephen Curry presented a gift for his former Warriors teammate Rollins after the game, despite being upset about the loss, per Eric Nemo of The Athletic.

“Watching him on film before tonight, you see he’s very calculated on how to use his speed and create space and get downhill,” Curry said. “Shooting when he’s open. The game seems to slow down enough when he’s making good reads. . . . You obviously saw that tonight, he played fearlessly outside. . . I’m happy for him, but I’m also mad.”

Curry’s gift to Rollins was a signed jersey, a touching gesture for a player who had his locker next to Curry’s during his first season with the Warriors.

“That’s my guy. He was my locker roommate my freshman year. My freshman year was really fast for me as well, so he was a great, down-to-earth guy,” Rollins said. “He’s Steph Curry, he was so down to earth and humble and the way he talked to me when I was just coming in and because of who he was at the time, his stature, (it was) very humbling.”

Curry is off to a strong start to the season, averaging 27.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.7 steals on 49.1 percent shooting from the field, 41.9 percent from the three-point line and 97 percent from the free throw line.

On the other hand, Rollins is coming off a career year. He is averaging 18.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.4 steals on 52.4 percent shooting from the field, 44.4 percent from the three-point line and 88.2 percent from the free throw line.
