Stephen Curry’s ‘unpredictable’ injuries are a concern

The Golden State Warriors returned to the losing column on Saturday night with a huge loss at home in the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers. It was another one missed the game for point guard Stephen Currywho dealt with a knee injury well before the All-Star break, and watched his team sink in the standings as a result.

During the game on Saturday, the Warriors received worrying update on Curry’s status progressing from the point guard himself.

“I’m feeling better. It’s weird. It’s a little unpredictable how it’s going to heal, but every day since the All-Star break he’s getting better. That’s all I can ask for,” Curry said during an interview with ESPN, via ESPN’s Anthony Slater on X, formerly Twitter.

Curry also added that “it will be a little while longer” before he is able to return to the court.

It’s certainly not the update Warriors fans were hoping to hear as they watch their team try to string together wins without their best player.

On Saturday, the game was almost over before it started, as Golden State trailed by 24 points early in the first half and never managed to make it very competitive.

Of course, even with Curry on the court, the Warriors are far from a contender, especially with Jimmy Butler out for the rest of the year with an ACL injury. Making matters even more frustrating is that big man Kristaps Porzingis, who the team recently acquired from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Jonathan Cumminga and Buddy Hield, has only played in one game for the Warriors while dealing with a mystery illness, while Cumminga is off to a great start in Atlanta.

Either way, the Warriors will take the floor next on Monday night at home against the Los Angeles Clippers.
