Steve Kerr offers the ultimate compliment to OKC for its recent success

The Oklahoma City Thunder continue to prove that last season’s championship was no fluke, as they hold a league-best 20-1 record entering the game against Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

The Thunder put their 12-game winning streak on the line in their visit to the Chase Center. The Warriors played without Stephen Curry due to a quad contusion.

With the way the team has dominated opponents, many are already talking about the possibility of Oklahoma City beating Golden State’s 73-9 record – the best in league history – in 2015-16.

Before tip-off, the Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked about the Oklahoma City campaign and what it takes win 70 games. Kerr was also part of the Chicago Bulls when they went 72-10 in 1995-96.

“Overall, a team mentality with zero plans. Just win every night. Obviously, big talent. But I think they’re high IQ players. The two teams I’ve been a part of have had really, really high IQ individually and as a team,” Kerr said, per Thunder Wire’s Clemente Almanca.

“That’s what I see with OKC, really, really smart players, great coaches, really connected. They’re on pace to break the record. It’s pretty amazing what they’re doing.”

The 60-year-old Kerr has been a winner his entire career, so he definitely knows what it takes to get to the top of the mountain.

While thunder, led by reigning MVP Shay Gilge-Alexanderthey didn’t openly state that they were fighting for the best record in league history, it probably crossed their minds.

OKC has the biggest point differential this season with a whopping 325 points before the game against Golden State.
