Steve Kerr’s answer tells you how he really feels

The The Golden State Warriors beat the Utah Jazz 123-114 at the Chase Center, and Stephen Curry once again led the way with 31 points and five assists. The Warriors are back to winning ways following their recent loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, there was talk of the familiar problem again after the game in the form of large turnovers in the team, so much so that Steve Kerr had a sharp response.

“I don’t mention it anymore. That’s the truth. I don’t talk about losses with the team anymore,” he said. per clip on X posted by 95.7 The Game.

The Warriors committed 14 turnovers against Utah, which the Jazz turned into 22 points, keeping the contest closer than it needed to be until the end of the fourth quarter. Even in the win, the same flaw that has haunted the Warriors all season resurfaced.

Ball security has been a recurring concern throughout the campaign, and the numbers are hard to ignore. The Warriors rank second in the NBA in turnovers at 16.2, trailing only the Portland Trail Blazers, who average 17.1. The damage doesn’t stop there, as Golden State is also second in points allowed off turnovers, giving up 20.7 per game, again just behind Portland.

That risk becomes more pronounced in close games, where turnovers have proven particularly costly. The Warriors are 8–11 in clutch games, defined as a contest within five points in the final five minutes of regulation.

More troubling, eight of those losses came despite Golden State leading in those final moments, including games against Indiana, Houston, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Portland, Phoenix and Toronto. By contrast, in eight clutch wins, the Warriors have trailed in just three of them, scoring worrying incompetence close, according to Sports Illustrated.

Curry is still one of the best shooters in NBA history, but his clutch field goal percentage is 42.7 percent. With defenses knowing the ball goes to Curry on nearly every possession, Kerr and his coaching staff have an obvious problem to solve.
