Steve Kerr’s current ‘biggest concern’ is his 3-6 fantasy team

Wednesday night, The Golden State Warriors are down another game on the road with a close loss to the Sacramento Kings. Most of the big guns for both teams threw this one out, including Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry for the Warriors, who are now a mediocre 5-4 on the young season.

However, that did not stop the head coach Steve Kerr from giving a joking answer about the state of the team at his presser after the game.

“My biggest concern right now is my fantasy team. I’m 3-6. I haven’t coached my fantasy team well enough,” Kerr said, per 95.7 The Game on X, formerly Twitter.

Meanwhile, the team Kerr coaches in real life has been a model of inconsistency so far this year, posting impressive comfortable wins over the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers while dropping enigmatic contests against the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks, both of whom were without their stars.

The Golden State Warriors clearly have plenty of talent on their roster, with Butler and Curry appearing to not have lost much of a step entering their age-36 and age-37 seasons. In addition, the Warriors have also seen the improved play of wing Jonathan Kuminga this year following his offseason contract saga.

However, overall, the Warriors have yet to put together a consistent streak of winning the basketball, and there is also the growing threat of a significant injury or two with a team this old.

Of course, it’s too soon to hit the panic button in the Bay Area, as it could be a few weeks before this Warriors team is ready to reach its full potential. However, it’s safe to say that fans were hoping that the first nine games of the season would be a little more convincing than what they’ve gotten so far.

Either way, the Warriors will next take the floor Friday night when they host the Denver Nuggets.
