Tari Eason talks about the hilarious first thought after the Kevin Durant trade

Houston Rockets forward Tarry Eason talked about the Kevin Durant trade from over the summer and his initial reaction to the news. The historic blockbuster trade turned out to be a seven-team deal — the first in league history. The Rockets were reportedly in talks with the Suns days before the deal. Eason revealed how he found out from friends who told him.

Eason was sincerely breathed a sigh of relief was not part of the deal and that he will play with Durant in the 2025-26 season.

“I was in bed when I got the news,” Eason said. “My buddies woke me up just running into the room like, ‘Yo, yo, yo, we’ve got KD, we’ve got KD.’ My first reaction was ‘f*** am I still on the team?’

“He gets so much attention on the field. You know what I’m saying? There’s always two or three guys guarding him, watching him, paying attention and focusing on him at all times,” Eason added. “So he just let you be open and play in space.

Midway through the preseason, Eason is already ready to feel the benefits of Durant’s presence offensively, for the team and as a player.
