Big news for the Lakers
For 46 years, the Lakers brand has been inseparable from the Buss family, pioneered by Dr. Jerry Bass, who purchased the team in 1979. The team has been by far the most successful NBA franchise since then, ushering in four separate championship eras during that span and continuing to attract star talent year after year.
That’s unlikely to change anytime soon, even with new ownership.
Meanwhile, the current Lakers are playing great without LeBron James and Luka Doncic in the lineup, as they knocked off the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night thanks to Austin Reaves’ game-winner.
