Tee Higgins reminds Joe Barrow that he’s in a good place

Not much went straight to the Cincinnati Bengals during their 4-10 season. However, to begin their Week 16 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, Tee Higgins proved that there is still optimism about the future of Bengal.

First, Higgins caught a pass over the quarterback’s shoulder, ala Randy Moss.

Then he got the Bengals on the board with a toe touch in the back of the end zone.

It was enough speculation about quarterback Joe Barrow’s future in Cincinnati. However, the franchise at least surrounded him with two of the best wide receivers in the league. Between Higgins and Ja’Mar Chase, Barrow will have a more than impressive arsenal for the foreseeable future.

The offensive line needs to be addressed in the offseason, but the Bengals’ biggest problem is their defense. Entering Week 16, Cincinnati was last in total defense, allowing 403.8 yards per game. There’s a good chance star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson will enter free agency after a contract dispute with the franchise.

The Bengals have found their footing. There aren’t many better offensive cores than Burr, Higgins and Chase. However, it’s clear that Cincinnati needs more to get over the hump. And if any of the trio gets hurt — especially Burrow — it looks like the Bengals’ strategy is falling apart.

As the star of the franchise, signed through the 2029 season, Barrow likely isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, other than as a replacement for Luka Doncic. Neither did Higgins after signing a four-year extension. The couple will be hoping their special relationship leads to more success in 2026.
