Texas A&M’s Scoobi Williams cut to injury report, Mario Craver questionable

Texas A&M (9-0) is essentially guaranteed to compete in the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history, but head coach Mike Elko and company they aim much higher than that turning point. Although the selection committee continues to favor Big Ten powerhouses Ohio State and Indiana, many analysts and fans believe the Aggies deserve to be the No. 1 team in the country. However, they can only focus on the job at hand. The home game against South Carolina (3-6) could be trickier than everyone expects latest injury report.
Linebacker Scoobi Williams is out and will miss his second straight game, while receiver Mario Craver is taking a questionable slap on the hands of On3’s Jackson Callaway. Texas A&M should still be able to handle a struggling Gamecocks team that is 0-3 on the road, but as many will argue, an SEC opponent should never be taken lightly.
Elko will once again have to replace Williams’ big impact. The redshirt senior has recorded one sack, four tackles for loss, one interception and one forced fumble in six games this season. While fans would love to see him compete at Kyle Field this weekend, they know how valuable a healthy Williams will be to the CFP.
The same can be said for Craver. Although the second-year wide receiver’s game has slowed in recent weeks, he remains one of the better playmakers in the conference and a key safety net for star quarterback Marcell Reid. Craver has 46 receptions for 775 yards and four touchdowns this season. The Aggies will monitor his status and determine if he is able to compete against South Carolina.
Texas A&M football is expecting a significant campaignand this is achieved by overcoming obstacles in the final part of the year. This upcoming matchup could allow the program to succeed in other ways, better preparing it for the CFP gauntlet ahead. Opening hours are on Saturday at noon.
