The Broncos left Brian Schottenheimer tossing and turning

One voice argued for the Dallas Cowboys to get stronger their defense, while the other said they should trade george pickens. So it should come as no surprise that the loss to the Broncos was a no-hitter Brian Schottenheimer tossing and turning, according to a post on X by John Machota.

“Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer: “I didn’t blink last night. I was tossing and turning all night. (And) I played the game in my mind a thousand times, things I could have done differently, things I could have done better. I know a lot of our players did that, too.”

It turned into a tough afternoon for the Cowboys as the Broncos ran over them for a 44-24 victory. However, coaches who lose sleep over games are unlikely to earn an iota of sympathy from fans.

The Cowboys are trying to find a consistent path

Maybe it’s not a good thing that Schottenheimer took a loss from the explosion as an opportunity to throw his carriages under the bus.

“When you look at it, I don’t think any of us practiced or played well enough,” Schottenheimer said. “We didn’t play well. We didn’t practice well. I wasn’t very good today. I don’t think (Matt Eberflus) thinks he was very good today. Clayton (Adams) doesn’t think he was very good today.

“We’ll look at it. And we have an extra day this week to prepare for Arizona, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

And it doesn’t help Schottenheimer that his quarterback-leader isn’t happy.

“Yeah, I’m surprised,” Dak Prescott said. “I’m sure that’s a good word to use. And frustrated — frustrating. What we’ve been doing, what we’re capable of doing, has never really taken off.”

“We’ve got to be better at everything we do. We’re doing it – getting traded – taking chances and playing away from somebody else. Forget the trade. Do more, right? Stop that narrative, whether it’s offense or defense? Whatever positional group you’re alluding to, step it up and shut up the conversation.”

The Cowboys should feel better after this week’s game. They get the Cardinals at home for a Monday night contest, and should put up 35-45 points in a huge win. Then comes the Raiders and another easy win.

However, this is followed by Eagles, Chiefs and Lions.
