The Caitlin Clarke-Peyton Pritchard lineup gets a heartfelt statement from Carmelo Anthony
a few weeks ago, Caitlin Clarke reacts to being compared to Peyton Pritchard would Hall of Famer Reggie Miller made waves, as it were Indiana Fever the star was taken aback by such a remark. For what it’s worth, it’s not a complete insult to be compared to the Boston Celtics guard, though certainly, given how big a star Clark is in the WNBA, there are some who feel like she deserves to be compared to a bigger star in the NBA, maybe even someone like Stephen Curry.
Clark has been a difference-maker for any team she’s played for, and the fever has certainly taken an upward trajectory since drafting her first overall in 2024. Perhaps the Curry comparisons really justified. At least one more Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony believes so.
“I heard it loud as s**t in my ear, and when Peyton Pritchard said it, it just caught me off guard… He didn’t trip completely, but he’s trippin’. She had a little Steph (Curry), (Tyreese) Haliburton. She played a little bit like Luka (Doncic, last time). episode of the podcast at 7:00 pm in Brooklyn presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

Fever star Caitlin Clark isn’t just a three-point shooter

The Curry comparisons are a bit lazy for Clark, as the Fever star certainly handles the rock and creates more offense on the ball than Curry did for the Golden State Warriors. Of course, Curry is miles better as an off-ball threat than Clark, although their shots from beyond the arc are certified elite.
if anything, Clark plays a bit like Trae Young; she likes to thin rocks and smoke her teammates, though she tends to settle for jumpers since she doesn’t have superior athleticism (compared to her peers).
