The camera caught Luka Doncic’s stormy reaction to the match against Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers they host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night in a battle against the Western Conference elite. The Lakers enter the game at 6-2. Meanwhile, the Spurs are 5-1, with Victor Vembanyama looks like an early favorite for the MVP.

At the beginning of the first quarter, the superstar of the Lakers Luka Dončić picked up a steal at the top of the key. He went coast to coast and appeared to have been hacked as he went to lay down. After the ball rolled off the rim, the referee whistled for a foul.

But not before Dončić let him have a piece of mind.

Doncic can be seen shouting and demonstrating towards the referee. It may have cost him some concentration, as the Lakers leader then missed the first of two free throws. He, however, made another.

As the game approaches halftime, the Lakers and Spurs are locked in a tight, back-and-forth game.

Dončić leads all scorers with 20 early points. Vembenia has been held in check so far, with just six points, three rebounds and one block heading into halftime.

Los Angeles was an unknown commodity this season when news broke that LeBron James would miss time to start the season. He has yet to play in the 2025-26 season and is not traveling with the team. But in his absence, not only Doncic and center Deandre Ayton, but also Austin Reaves stepped up.

Reaves dropped 50 burgers a few games ago and looked like someone taking a huge step forward. He followed that up with 41 points in the next game, joined some exclusive NBA history. However, he suffered a groin injury in the win over the Miami Heat and was unable to play against the Spurs on Wednesday.
