The Celtics bring back Nikola Vucevic!
And the new titular pivot Celtics, long awaitedit’s called… Nikola Vucevic ! ESPN reveals that the Cs succeeded in persuading Bulls to release the Montenegrin interior (and the future second round of the draft), against Anfernee Simmons (and a future second round draft).
A transfer that everyone seems to like. Especially “Vooch”, who wanted to join a competitive team (where his defensive deficiencies could be compensated for), and Bostonwho wanted to improve his racket, jumps and spacing before entering the playoffs. Where there will be a real opportunity to play in the East, with or without Jayson Tatum.
Like Nikola Vucevic (16.9 points, 9 rebounds, 3.8 assists), Anferni Simmons (14.2 points, 2.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds) will be at the end of his contract this summer and will try to increase his value to Chicagobefore signing a new lease wherever it suits him.
In addition to the savings (around twenty million dollars), the Celtics dealt a major blow to their conference, with a pivot, a two-time All-Star, who would mark the first half of the Bulls’ decade. Thanks to incredible regularity and availability, even if he didn’t have much success collectively.
