The fan who made a $10,000 half-court shot leaves Jordan Poole stunned

On Sunday night, The San Antonio Spurs suffered one of their inexplicable losses of the season with a 104-95 loss from the New Orleans Pelicans. Things fell apart for the Spurs in the second quarter of this game and went downhill from there, with the team now 31-15 on the season.
It wasn’t a bad night for everyone in attendance, though, as one fan knocked down a half-court shot to win $10,000.
Pelicans guard Jordan Poole he couldn’t believe what he was seeingwhen the ball flew off the shot clock and then fell gently into the net.

The Spurs could have used similar shooting luck on a night when they were nothing offensively, scoring just 95 points in the loss. It was a relatively quiet game from superstar Victor Wembanyama, who scored 16 points in the loss, which was remarkable considering he was still his team’s leading scorer.
Overall, the Spurs remain in a good spot heading into the 2025-26 season, tied for second in the Western Conference behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, some of San Antonio’s key players, including junior guards Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle, have started to hit the wall in recent weeks, increasing the pressure on Vembanyama to accomplish more.
There are also growing concerns about the Spurs’ ability to perform in clutch moments, as the team too often relies on Wembanyama’s hard-contested jumpers to bail them out, as was the case in last week’s loss to the Houston Rockets.
However, Spurs fans have to be happy with where the team is as a whole, especially given the time Wembanjama has already missed this year through injury.
San Antonio next plays on Wednesday in a rematch against the Rockets.
