The final word for the Raptors in Washington

Mission accomplished for Raptorswho came back to win in Washington. Even if Darko Rajakovic’s men didn’t have to show their talent against an undermanned Wizards, they had to come back from a 13-point deficit conceded at the start of the match before shifting gears after the break, spurred on by their outside trio of Quickley-Barrett-Ingram and their double Barnes-Poelt throwing in the game.
The intensity of Bilal Coulibaly and the efficiency of Keishaun George will allow the Wizards to take the lead and maintain a 9-point lead until 3 minutes from the end of the first half (59-50). In diesel mode, Toronto eventually woke up with an 11-3 run before the break to get back into the game, Brandon Ingram’s dunk on the counterattack and Immanuel Quickley’s three bursts, two long shots and a lobbed pass for Jakob Poltl (62-61).
The trio of Johnson-Carrington-Vukcevic tried to activate to help Bilal Coulibaly and Keeshon George compete in the third quarter, until another 11-3, started by three baskets by RJ Barrett and concluded by a three-pointer by Brandon Ingram, which allowed Toronto to take control for good (84-90).
Then it was 11-4 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, which sealed the fate of the match, and the trio of Quickley-Barrett-Barnes again pushed the point (96-109). The same trio that then provided two 3-point baskets by Jamal Sheed and Jamison Bate to seal the deal and allow the Raptors to seal their 19th road win of the season (134-125).
WHAT TO REMEMBER
Performance by the Quickley-Ingram duo. The Raptors’ two shooters shone with efficiency on offense, between the former’s double-double with 27 points and 11 assists, 10/15 shooting for just one turnover, and the latter’s 24 points on 9/14 shooting. Two benchmarks that never let up and ultimately brought the Wizards a little too light.
Perfect by Jakob Poeltl. The pivot is common in the genre, but his 7/7 shooting, for 18 points and 10 rebounds, this time highlighted the flaws in the overly indulgent racket of the Wizards, deprived of their “rim protector” Alex Sarr (and Anthony Davis). As the match progressed, Scotty Barnes (18 points) also took his place, helping to balance the debates to the detriment of the locals.
Bilal Coulibaly in sight. The Frenchman was one of those who set the tone at the start of the match with aggressiveness towards the circle and good choices, so that his teammates could shine as well. In 23 minutes on the court, he stood out with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Nothing crazy, but good passages to play to end the season on a good note. At the individual level.
