The first look at OKC’s championship rings will have fans wanting another one

Opening night of the 2025-26 season. marks the raising of the banner and the unveiling ceremony of the ring for the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thundera team that finally made it to the NBA Finals after triumphing over the Indiana Pacers in seven games. Core teams may not last forever, especially in today’s NBA where tax penalties are as punitive as ever, but rings do and immortalize any player’s contributions to a championship team.

Before the start of their first contest against the Houston Rockets, the Thunder’s championship rings were revealed. Brett Siegel, an NBA insider for ClutchPoints, noted that a ring is made in 14k white and yellow gold with blue and orange sapphires, with each player’s numbers engraved in diamonds.

The ring is also full of detail; The ring is also engraved with the Thunder’s regular season record from last year (68-14), and inside are engraved the marks of every playoff series OKC went through last year en route to winning the title.

The best part about winning an NBA ring isn’t the potential monetary value of the ring given the materials as a piece of jewelry – it’s the exclusivity that comes with earning it. No other nation on the entire planet besides the members of the Thunder 2024-25 team owns this ring, which makes it even more valuable.

As great as that ring was, this should only serve as additional fuel for the Thunder to win more. They are considered by many pundits as the number one favorite to win the title again in 2026 and are clearly built to win more championships. But that’s actually easier said than done, especially when OKC has the biggest target on their back of any team in the association.

Thunder is back, has all the conditions to repeat the championship

No team in the NBA has repeated as champions in the 2020s. The last team to do so was the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018, the greatest super team in recent memory. As for Thunder, they are as close as possible to a super team in today’s NBA.

They brought back every important part of last season’s team and are poised to once again have the best defense in the league. Head coach Mark Daigneault is not the type of leader to allow this Thunder team to play at less than 100 percent effort on any given night. And Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, now that the weight of an NBA title is off his back, should be in for another monster, MVP-caliber year.
