The former announcer says she is ‘not going back’ to promotion

A few years ago, in 2024, former WWE announcer Samantha Irwin made a shocking announcement and parted ways with VVE. She followed it up by issuing a statement on social media and shared her gratitude to fans for their support and to numerous backstage personalities. Currently busy exploring her music career, Irwin recently answered a fan’s question about her possible return to WWE.
On social media, she exchanged words with a fan who criticized her decision to leave WWE. Responding to a fan who claimed she would be running the “mid-card in the number two promotion,” replied: “I’m not going back to WWE (hands folded emoji).”
In a previous interview, Irwin also claimed that she is not done with wrestling. Serving a two-year non-competition clauseIrwin is scheduled to be released from that in October 2026. “I’m not done with wrestling at all. Now I realize I’m going to have to have an opportunity to make something. I’ve got to be able to make something. Just like with ring announcing, we have amazing ring announcers. We’ve always had great ring announcers. We’ve always had great ring announcers and professional voices.
Irwin’s husband, Ricochet, left WWE in 2024 joined forces with AEV at All In 2024. One of the most popular names on Tony Khan’s roster, Ricochet is currently the reigning AEV National Champion and is set to defend his title against Jack Perry at the upcoming AEV tapings in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, Irwin still had a few months left; it is currently unknown if she plans to join her husband for the promotion in Jacksonville.
