The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade watch includes dark horses

The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching, and time should run out for teams to make deals on February 5th. Every year, certain NBA teams look to load up for a postseason run, while others work for the future. The Milwaukee Bucksthanks Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s official trade requestthey are probably the last ones this year.

As soon as news broke that Antetokounmpo wanted out of Milwaukee, rumors swirled. Teams would love to line up to acquire a player the caliber of the Bucks’ franchise star.

The Giannis trade rumors they have dominated league stories ever since. The Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors were the two most prominent teams, and for good reason. But there are others in the game, some that may catch you off guard.

On Wednesday, ClutchPoints NBA Insider Brett Siegel joined Tomer Azarly in the discuss possible trade partners for Milwaukee.

“I would definitely throw the (Brooklyn) Nets in there. They have the draft capital to pretty much compete with anybody. Warriors, Heat, you name it,” Siegel said. “They can offer a number of draft picks that can be very tempting for the Bucks.”

“I think so.” San Antonio Spurstoday Shams reports that they want a young blue chip player. The Milwaukee Bucks want it. The Spurs have it. They have Dylan Harper, they got Stephon Castle, and Devin Vassell is another young player who could fit right into the rebuild.”

The Spurs showed up well ahead of schedule on their rebuild earlier this season. That was especially true after beating the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder three times. But since then the team has gone cold. An attacking frontcourt of Victor Wembanyama and Giannis Antetokounmpo could work, but it could also look sluggish. But defensively, together they could be the greatest interior presence in decades.

Meanwhile, the Nets would like to build around Antetokounmpo. He is still only 31 years old, although this is his 13th NBA season.

Giannis is averaging 28 points, 10 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game for the Bucks this season. however, Antetokounmpo is currently dealing with a calf injury it is expected to keep him sidelined for some time.
