The Grizzlies suffer the robbery of Golden State!

The WarriorsAfter Ty Jerome (19 points, 7 assists) and Taylor Hendricks (15 points, 10 rebounds), the Grizzlies started a cannonball (17-7). The Warriors start after the entry of Brandin Podziemski (16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds). Their eight points allow them to get back level with Memphis (32-32).

De’Anthony Melton (10 points) puts Golden State ahead for the first time in the game, but the two teams go shot for shot. On the one hand, the Warriors continue to abuse the long-range shot. On the other hand, Memphis continues one on one.

A layup by Pat Spencer (17 points, 7 assists) against his brother Cam gives the Dubs a one-point lead, but at the end of the half, the Grizzlies dominate (55-54). Ty Jerome and Scottie Pippen Jr. (11 points, 4 steals) spark an 11-2 run that puts Memphis (65-57) in control.

An unexpected robbery

Tuomas Iisal’s men continue their momentum. They made their opponents lose six balls during the first six minutes of the third quarter, and Taylor Hendricks’ 2+1 increased the gap to +11 (78-67).

Among the numerous turnovers of the Warriors, Al Horford (16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists) was the only one who did well, but it was not enough. Javon Small and Jahmai Mashack (17 points) even hit a triple and bring Golden State to -16 (96-80)!

Moses Moody (15 points) and Brandin Podziemski revive the Warriors, but Draymond Green’s 7th turnover (14 points) puts the Grizzlies back in the saddle (108-95). As against the Suns four days ago, Golden State then leads the blue for warmups. Their defense finally wakes up, the Grizzlies lose nine balls, and in the last eight minutes they score only five points!

On the other side, Moody, Santos and Horford narrowed the gap to the advantage after the Brazilian’s offensive jump with 19 seconds left! A last-ditch defensive stop gives the Warriors an unexpected win.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

The Memphis bench dominated the first three quarters. Without Ja Morant or Jaren Jackson Jr. sent to Utah, Tuomas Iisalo opens his bench and his players agree with him. Every player that entered the game played hard on both sides and for the team. Memphis’ backups scored 68 of Memphis’ 113 points, including four players (Taylor Hendricks, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jamai Mashak and Scottie Pippen Jr.) scoring more than ten points. They dominated Golden State’s bench with 26 points … but ran out of juice late in the game

Al Horford determines. In a game in which Golden State lost 23 turnovers, Al Horford was one of the positive players in the game for Steve Kerr. Against the Grizzlies without Zack Eddy, he was dominant inside, punishing favorable duels, finding his partners to get out of duels, but also closing the circle at the end of the match. The former Celtic finished the match with +/- of +24 in 26 minutes!

That Jerome has ants in his feet. Returning from injury on January 31st, Ty Jerome played in his first five games of the season. Limited to 20 minutes since his return, he is averaging 20 points and 6 assists. If he could have played more against a Golden State defense that never slowed him down, Memphis would have won the game for sure…
