The Grizzlies were slapped with the harsh trade reality of Ja Morant

For all your talent, I Morant it comes with a lot of baggage that it puts on Memphis Grizzlies in a relationship. This is especially evident in his recent suspension due to altercation with coaches.
As a result, the Grizzlies can be looking for a trade their star player. It was a topic of discussion on The Hoop Collective podcast.
Co-hosts Tim MacMahon and Tim Bontemps were on opposite sides.
“You say you’re trading him, here’s the problem,” McMahon said. “I didn’t say trading with him was easy,” Bontemps replied.
“Yeah, I don’t think there’s much,” MacMahon said. “As you talk to people, I talk to people. Do you find a lot of people who believe there will be a strong market if they buy Ja Morant?”
“No, no, I don’t think there is,” said Bontemps. “One is because of all the things we’ve talked about. The other is that he just doesn’t make that much of a difference at the position. And it’s a loaded position.”
So far, Morant is averaging 20.8 points, 6.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are off to a 3-4 start. They play the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Last Friday, Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. waived by the Lakersresulting in a 117-112 loss. A sign of growing discontent.
I Morant comes with baggage
While Morant is a high-caliber player, whether he stays in Memphis or is traded, he carries with him a great deal of vulnerability. Specifically, his long-term injury struggles and off-field controversies.
At the beginning of the season, Morant was placed on the injured list due to joint pain. He had to for years suffer lower body injuriesespecially his feet and ankles.
Then, of course, there are his off-field troubles, which have included a a complaint filed by a teenager claiming Morant assaulted him during a basketball game. Finally, the the lawsuit was dropped.
Also, Morant was ifamously suspended by the NBA for waving a gun on social media.
