The infirmary is already full, the Sixers are crossing their fingers for Joel Embiid
We are in the midst of a loss to the Nets, at the start of the third quarter when Joel Embiid enter Terence Mann. The shock caused MVP 2023 to fall and specifically injure his right knee. He went to the locker room before returning, then finished the game with 27 points.
Obviously, all eyes are on his articulation. Was he seriously injured?
“It’s hyperextension. I went into the locker room to see how things were going.”, noticed pivot of Philadelphia, rather reassuringly. “It’ll be fine. It’s always hard to judge when you’re injured, so we’ll see how I feel this Wednesday.”
The advantage for the Sixers is that they have two days off, with their next game scheduled for Friday in Chicago, which will be the start of a five-game road trip. However, the absence of Joel Embiid would be very bad news for Nick Nurse, who was already in charge of a real doctor’s waiting room in the middle of the winter.
Because if Kelly Oubre Jr. and Trendon Watford are injured, Dominique Barlow, VJ Edgecomb and Quentin Grimes are sick and missed the game against the Nets due to the same virus that bedridden Tyrese McKay and Joel Embiid in recent days.
“It’s been going on for a while,” Nick Nurse state. “It probably started with Tyreese, but it seemed like an isolated case. And now it’s obviously spreading a little bit. Players who weren’t feeling well on Monday didn’t come to practice. On Tuesday morning, things weren’t going any better and we had another patient, we stopped shooting. We’re keeping the players on the sidelines until the game.”
