The Kings player will most likely be traded before the deadline
With Sacramento Kings surrounded by rumors before the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline, there’s no doubt there’s a group of players fans think could draw the most interest from teams. How can some say that Kings star Domantas Sabonis could be rumored to be traded, or other stars, there is one name that is believed to be most likely moved ahead of schedule.
According to ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel, Sacramento guard Keon Ellis is the only player he ‘fully expects’ to be waived because there are teams interested in the 26-year-old. The only team Siegel mentions as potentially interested is the Los Angeles Lakers.
“Keon Ellis, he’s a guy that I fully expect to be on the move before the trade deadline, but again, multiple teams are interested in him. And so, if you’re the Lakers, you’re going to have to give up something of value to really get Sacramento’s attention,” Siegel said on Thursday’s Clutch Scoops.
Siegel previously spoke about the interest Ellis has had, telling The Drive Guys that much of the league has interest, specifically, “More than half the league has talked.” to Sacramento with interest in Keon Ellis,” he said Thursday.
Interest in Keon Ellis from the Kings remains high

While it is The king’s trade negotiations will come to light, reports on Ellis would be supported by The Athletic’s Sam Amick in his latest column on news leading up to the deadline. While Ellis’ numbers aren’t eye-opening, averaging 5.3 points, his three-point shooting, mixed with his defensive prowess, is desirable, and the running back appears to be a first-round pickas Amik points out.
“League and team sources say the Royals continue to draw serious interest in veteran guard Keon Ellis, with approximately 10 teams in the hunt for the 26-year-old. A deal is almost certain to be signed before the Feb. 5 deadline, if not much sooner,” Amick wrote Friday.
“The weirdest part of all? Despite Ellis’ 3-and-D skill set being so desirable, Kings coach Doug Christie opted not to play Ellis the last two games. The Kings are looking for a late first-round pick, those sources said,” Amick continued.
Either way, it remains to be seen if, and seemingly when, Ellis will be traded from Sacramento.
