With rumors are swirling around the New York Knicks before the Feb. 5 trade deadline, there were discussions about which players the team would target. While there was speculation as to whether it was The Knicks have been linked to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team is reportedly linked to the player with a close connection.

According to Mark Stein of Stein Line, he would say New York has “explored paths” in a potential effort to go after the Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday. The veteran guard was one of the league’s premier two-way players, as he was part of championship teams with the Boston Celtics and Bucks, along with Antetokounmpo in 2021.

Stein believes that going on vacation could not only be a great addition for the team, but also a “more attractive destination” for Antetokounmpo.

“There are at least two clear reasons why New York would be interested in a player who helped both Milwaukee and Boston win championships this decade: 1) The assumption that buying Holiday — if there is a way — would make the Knicks an even more attractive destination for Holiday’s former Bucks teammate Antetokounmpo; 2) New York’s potential backup is believed to favor Holiday as a long-time complement to Jalen Brunson,” Stein continued.
