The magic is starting to go in the right direction

The Floridians’ evening could have been spoiled by an injury to Paolo Banchero, but as the interior Magic he was reassuring after the meeting, Orlando could breathe. And also rejoice, because this success in New York is clearly not trivial.

Because the Knicks are on a five-game winning streak, with a fire attack which averaged 130.2 points. Mike Brown’s men were limited to 107 points, 30% shooting from 3-point range, and lost at home for the first time this season.

“I’m proud of the way the guys are defending”, chains Jamahl Mosley. “This is our priority. That’s who we are: a defensive team that can run and create chances thanks to its defense.”

Then, because after a very complicated start to the season where the team failed to find the right formula to adapt to their desire to play faster offensively, Magic seems more stable and efficient in recent days, with a record of five wins and two losses in two weeks.

The defense improved

“We are going in the right direction. In the last seven matches, we are playing much better basketball”referee Desmond Bane. “It takes time. It’s new for everyone, so we’re trying to put things in place. We have to keep believing in our habits, in what we’re doing and in having fun.”

The defense has actually increased, with 109.9 points allowed per 100 possessions during this seven-game stretch. In this sample, Orlando has the 7th defense in the league. By comparison, in October, after six games, Jamal Mosley’s men had 117.3 points per 100 possessions.

“We want to defend correctly every night, move the ball and not make mistakes. This is our process. Then the results will come.”announces the coach, while he and his troops could confirm this Friday, by facing the weak Nets, who after eleven matches have only one win on the clock.
