According to ESPN, several options are on the table, ready to be submitted to the board of directors. To a great extent, here they are and obviously they cannot be combined, so you will have to choose the most effective one or more of them.
- First-round picks could only be protected for selections in the top 4 or from the top 14 and beyond;
- The “lottery” probability could be frozen at the “trade deadline,” after fifty meetings;
- A team could no longer receive a top 4 pick for two consecutive years and/or after two consecutive seasons with three worst records;
- A team would not be able to pick in the top 4 if it made the conference finals last year;
- “Lottery” probabilities would be calculated based on cumulative results over two seasons;
- The “lottery” would be extended to all playing teams;
- The probabilities would be standardized for all teams participating in the “lottery”.
