The NBA postponed the Hornets-Lakers game due to the fire in Los Angeles
The NBA announced that on Thursday night the match between Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets at the Cripto.com Arena in Los Angeles has been postponed due to the ongoing fires in the area.
In a statement, the Lakers said they “broken hearted” according to recent events.
The selection date for the game has not yet been set.
Lakers coach JJ Redick and his family had to evacuate their home as a result of forest fires, he told reporters on Tuesday evening.
“Our family, my wife’s family, my wife’s twin sister, they evacuated,” Reddick said. “I know a lot of people are freaking out right now, including my family.” From the sound of things, with the winds coming (Tuesday night), I know a lot of people are scared. So I just want to admit it. Thoughts and prayers certainly, and we hope everyone stays safe.”
The Lakers’ next home game is scheduled for Saturday vs San Antonio Spurs.
This is a developing story.
