The New York Liberty will seek their new coach from the Warriors
Finally, the next coach New York Liberty not a part a list of three names recently mentioned. The Marina Johannes franchise has committed to that Chris DeMarcohas been attending the Warriors since 2012.
Arriving in the Bay Area in 2012 under Mark Jackson, the 40-year-old technician gradually rose through the Golden State ranks, from the video to the bench, until he became one of the architects of the team’s defense while working in player development at the heart of the franchise’s four NBA titles. He has worked particularly closely with Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole while leading the Bahamas national team since 2019.
And so it was his profile that convinced GM Jonathan Kolb, who also spoke with the former Nets assistant, Will WeaverWNBA champion Christy Tolliver or a Raptors assistant, Pit of the Serpentto take over for Sandy Brondel, who was fired after being eliminated in the playoffs despite winning the title last year.
In a fast-growing Women’s Major League, the GM justified Sandy Brondello’s firing by wanting to “evolve” and “innovate” to keep the franchise among the league’s benchmarks.
But the job ahead of Chris DeMarco is important: right now Leonie Fiebich etc Niara Saballi are still under contract, while most of the stars are waiting the following collective agreement and his huge salaries. Even if Jonathan Kolb assures that he has “full confidence” in the will Breanna Stewart, Jonkel Jones etc Sabrina Ionescu to return to Brooklyn in 2026 to aim for the title again.
