The Nick Harrison quote comes up again after the Anthony Davis trade

For the second year in a row, Dallas Mavericks made a stunning move before the trade deadline — and it included Anthony Davis.

on Wednesday, The Mavericks sent Davis to the Washington Wizardsalong with D’Angelo Russell, Jaden Hardy and Dante Exum in exchange for Khris Middleton, Marvin Bagley III, AJ Johnson, Malachi Branham and five future draft picks.

This officially erased the era of the former general manager Nico Harrisonwho acquired Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers at last year’s trade deadline in the shocking Luka Doncic trade.

Harrison was penalized for the headbutt but was adamant it was the right one. Now, with Davis shipped to the Wizards after barely suiting up for the Mavericks, Harrison’s the old quote reappeared.

“Niko Harrison on this time last year after the Anthony Davis-Luka Doncic trade: ‘Time will tell if I’m right.’ Time has indeed told,” Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints wrote on X.

32 year old Davis only played 29 games for Dallasas he was again hampered by injuries. He is currently sidelined for several months with a hand injury. He averaged 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocks in his short stint with the Mavericks.

Harrison claimed the 10-time All-Star will be the foundation of the Mavericks, adding that he traded the 26-year-old Doncic because of his poor fitness.

Harrison was fired in November amid growing fan outcry. Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont, who approved the trades for Doncic and Davis, apologized to fans, stressing the need to bring “winning basketball back to Dallas.”
