The Nuggets attack the trap week at home

Starting tonight against Houston, and a week Nuggets are back in Denver and it’s not necessarily good news.

For what? Because at the start of the season, they are excellent away from home with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses: the first match of the season in Golden State in overtime, then in Portland, with a loss of two small points.

But otherwise, it’s perfect, including current streak of 11 consecutive away wins – despite the absence of Aaron Gordon and Christian Brown. To understand this performance, you only need to look at the best streak in history in this area, a record 16, which belonged to the Lakers during the 1971/72 season.

How can we justify this success? “We are truly united. No matter where we go, what room we play in, what opponent we face: we come with our energy”, explains Jamal Murray.

Great away, still average at home

While it’s always positive to be able to dominate away from home, it’s also mathematically good news for Denver. The Nuggets have actually played more away games (14) than at home (10) thus far. “Undoubtedly we are very good away because we play one match at home before we go to play three away games”Remark Tim Hardaway Jr.

After these four straight games at the Ball Arena between now and next Monday, we will be back in balance, especially before the big seven-game “road trip” between December 27th and January 7th. This will be an opportunity for them to improve their record in front of the home crowd, which is only 6 wins and 4 losses.

“We are resilient. We do not allow external noise to destabilize us”assures David Adelman. “Losing at home is never a good thing, but to win on the road as many times as we’ve done is really a very positive thing. The players are very connected. And there’s only one team like Oklahoma City, so we have to understand who we are, where we are this season. But if someone had asked me, before it started, if an 18-6 record would suit me, I’d say I’m really satisfied.

It remains to be seen what the results will be after these four games in Colorado, with two duels against the Rockets and one against the Magic. Before the last game against the Jazz.
