The only scenario is the Celtics trade Anfernee Simmons

The Boston Celtics they are contenders again this season. Not much was expected this season after it looked like they would be without a superstar Jayson Tatum for the entire season after tearing his Achilles in last year’s playoff series against the New York Knicks, but now it appears he could return in February or March.
Even if I play without Tatum, the Celtics overtaken to a certain degree. They have a record of 24-15 and are in third place in the Eastern Conference behind the first-place Detroit Pistons (28-10) and New York Knicks (25-15).
The Celtics they may want to stick with their current roster until Tatum returns and joins fellow superstar Jaylen Brown as well as Derek White and Peyton Pritchard. However, if they can land some legitimate frontcourt talent, they may be willing to trade guard Anfernee Simmons.
They won’t be parting ways with Simmons, as he’s having a great year for coach Joe Mazzula’s team. The 26-year-old is in his 7th year in the league and his game seems to have matured. Simmons is averaging 13.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.
According to Clutch Points NBA Insider Brett Siegel, the Celtics would i need to get a player like big man Daniel Gafford of the Dallas Mavericks or center Ivica Zubac of the Los Angeles Clippers if they wanted to move Simmons. A deal for Zubac may have been more likely earlier in the season, but he is turning things around and improving his game in recent games.
Gafford is averaging 7.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and would give the Celtics more depth in the middle of the front line.
