The Patriots, the Seahawks are picking up veteran quarterbacks for the Super Bowl

The New England Patriots received a significant defensive boost as linebacker Robert Spillane returned to practice Thursdayproviding much-needed stability up front in the NFL Super Bowl LKS. Spillane, who missed Wednesday’s session with an ankle injury, participated as a limited member, signaling a positive trend in his availability against the powerful Seattle Seahawks offense.

While the Patriots are still monitoring the status of linebacker Harold Landry III and several offensive tackles, rookie quarterback Drake May appears fully healthy after working out in full practice despite shoulder concerns.

May’s presence at 100% is vital to New England’s offensive game plan as they look to secure another Lombardi trophy under Mike Vrabel.

As part of their final roster adjustments for the championship game, Ian Rapoport reported on X that both teams they turned to their practice squads for military reinforcements.

For Super Bowl LX, the New England Patriots elevated running back D’Ernst Johnson and defensive end Leonard Taylor III to the active roster.

On the opposite side, the Seattle Seahawks picked up a veteran quarterback Cam Akersalong with Velus Jones Jr., to bolster their depth.

These moves indicate a desire for both coaching staffs to have experienced hands available for the high-pressure situations that inevitably arise on the league’s biggest stage.

While New England sees defensive stars return, Seattle faces uncertainty as for rookie quarterback Nick Emanvori.

The standout fullback suffered a sprained ankle late in Wednesday’s practice and was unable to participate in any capacity on Thursday.

Although Emanwori has expressed confidence in his ability to play, his absence from the field is a major concern for head coach Mike McDonald’s defensive scheme.

If Emanwori can’t fit in, the Seahawks may be forced to adjust their nickel-heavy packages or rely on depth players like Tee Okada to fill the void.

With both teams working through these final health hurdles and growing rosters, the stage is set for a long-awaited rematch in Santa Clara.
