The puzzling update on Josh Giddy’s ankle injury comes with a touch of optimism



The Chicago Bulls was defeated by the defending champion OKC Thunder 116-108 on Tuesday. Josh Giddeiplaying against his former teammate, suffered fear of injury.

In the third quarter Giddy rolled his ankle and had to be taken out of the game. However, he came back and finished with a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. He was one rebound short of a triple-double.

Also, Giddei managed to tie Derrick Rose is 5th on the double-double list for Chicago guards with 51.

After Giddei exited briefly, Matas Buzelis stepped on a player’s leg and rolled his ankle. In the end, he was sent back to the dressing room and did not play until the end of the game. Afterwards, head coach Billy Donovan confirmed that Giddy and Bouzelis had sprained their wrists.

Also, both will be graded on Wednesday.

However, Giddei offered a glimmer of hope that he will return, according to KC Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network.

“Not bad,” Giddy said.

As a result of the loss, the Bulls are 25-37 and have lost 15 of their last 17 games. The Bulls will begin a five-game road trip against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday. After that, they will play four games in California.

They will play against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Next, Chicago will play the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. They will then play against the LA Lakers on Thursday and the LA Clippers on Friday.

Giddy is averaging 17.7 points, 8.4 assists and 8.2 rebounds per game. In total, he played 41 games this year. Recently, Giddei was out due to a left hamstring injury.
