Ole miss football austin simmons praised by Lane Kiffin

Simmons started the first two games of the season for Ole Miss before head coach Lane Kiffin benched him due to nagging injuries, but when Chambliss did play, he was too productive to sit again. At the time, Kiffin crowned the Rebels with “the best quarterback room in the country” via On3 Sports.
“I think Austin (Simmons) is a great quarterback, he’s played really well for the No. 1 starter, and I think he’d have a great year if he’s still around. I have all the confidence in the world in him. So I think we’ve got two guys that are better than a lot of people’s No. 1,” Kiffin said on Nov. 5.
While Chambliss is a senior, Simmons is a sophomore who still has a lot to offer the program, especially if he goes to Missouri, which is a favorite, as Thamel reported. Either way, the Rebels are in the hunt for a national championship as they play the University of Miami next Thursday in the CFP semifinals.
