The Rockets won against the Magic in overtime

Missiles against magicStill bereft of Paolo Banchero, Magic Starts the game perfectly. Floridians are very serious in defense and thus make big stops. Franz Wagner takes care of scoring points and luckily, for Rocketsthat Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun have the talent to fuel the score (23-30). Next, it’s Reed Shepard who breathes life into the Texas offense, with some heat. But in this first period, Ime Udoka’s troops suffered, as Magic contested all shots (46-55).

We had to wait until the third quarter to see the Rockets’ defense step up, allowing them to get back into the game (77-80). The last quarter was complicated for the Magic, as Franz Wagner missed shots near the circle. Kevin Durant also misses shots, but not the one to take the lead with three minutes left or the one to tie the game with 20 seconds left. However, on the missed throw, he collapsed and let Anthony Black slip away for a dunk, a mistake.

The latter misses his free throw and gives Houston a chance. Alperen Sengun scores a goal and sends the two teams into overtime (102-102). The Turk scores a point, shoots a lot, and is assisted by Kevin Durant. Orlando is behind, and Ime Udoka is asking his players to make a mistake in order to avoid the tying triple. Houston comes away with a 117-113 victory.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun save the Rockets. The Texans got off to a rough start, but that’s the advantage of having players at this level: they find solutions and solve problems. The former finished with 35 points on 13/24 shooting, the latter with 30 points on 11/31 shooting. The Turk lost more, but grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. The duo scored 65 points, or 55% of the team’s points, and thankfully they were there, even if the Rockets will have to find more collective solutions in this trench battle.

– Orlando’s defense. The defeat is harsh for Jamal Mosley’s men, who played a perfect match or almost without their best player Paolo Banchero. Their level of defense was particularly impressive, with crazy activity in contesting all shots and intelligence in assists. If the Magic repeat this style of performance, the rebuild seen in recent days will be confirmed.

– The Rockets’ fourth win in a row. The two teams had three wins in a row, so on Sunday night one streak was inevitably ended. It’s that of Orlando, who stops at three successes in a row. Houston signs the fourth victory in a row and takes the third place in the Western Conference.
