The slo-mo footage of Victor Vembanyama’s handle doesn’t look real

It becomes a routine for Victor Vembanyama to do things leaving fans wondering what’s real and what’s not. On Monday night against the Toronto Raptors, the 21-year-old phenom produced another viral moment, this time with a slow-motion video of him handling the ball that looked like it was from a video game.

Slow-motion footage from Monday night’s game has taken social media by storm, showing San Antonio Spurs star pulling off a sequence that had fans questioning the limits of physics.

Dribbling between his legs, transitioning in effortless rhythm and sliding into open space like a seasoned guard, Vembanyama looked less like a center and more like a point forward trapped in the body of a giant.

The clip has since gone viral, with fans comparing the 7-foot-4 forward’s coordination to that of a guard. “There’s no way a man that tall could move like that,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Another said: “He literally breaks the laws of physics.”

Vembanjama ended the night with 24 points15 rebounds and perfect shooting from both the field (7-of-8) and the free throw line (10-of-10). It was another masterclass from the reigning Rookie of the Year, who was named Western Conference Player of the Week earlier in the day.

With a 121-103 win over Toronto, the San Antonio Spurs improved to 4-0, tying the best start in franchise history. The last time the Spurs started the season this well was in 2017. Stephon Castle poured in 22 points and veteran forward Harrison Barnes added 18, helping the young Spurs keep the momentum going.

For context, San Antonio didn’t record its fourth win until Nov. 7 of last season. This year, driven by Vembanyama’s evolution into an overnight highlight, they reached that mark before mid-October.

Every night, it seems, Vembanyama finds a new way to impress, and on this night his handles stole the show. The slow motion became a snapshot of his rare blend of grandeur, grace and control. If this is what the 4-0 Spurs look like in October, the rest of the league should be watching closely, and perhaps in slow motion.
