The Thunder crushes the Lakers in one half

After a few timid first moments, the Thunder started the machine with an 11-0 run. Luka Dončić he tries to respond, but is more inspired when he passes than when he shoots. The Slovenian forces things, which does not give the Lakers good results. In addition, the current champions find the target from afar and do not lose a single ball, unlike Los Angeles. After twelve minutes, a gap is made (30-18).

What followed was a real test for JJ Reddick’s troops. Failing to find a way to the basket for almost eight minutes, with a 0/9 shot, they relied on crumbs, free throws, to score a few points. On the contrary, things are going on and the distance between the two teams is getting huge. So much so that already at halftime it seemed that the match was over (70-38).

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates can then enter the management phase. The intensity decreases, but not the difference in the result. Luka Doncic is clumsy, gets angry and makes a technical foul while Thunder players laugh. “SGA” scored 30 points of its own before joining the bench at the end of the third quarter (100-64).

The minute will then be even longer and without interest, except for the players on the bench, the victory gained from the break for the Thunder. This success (121-92) is the fourth in a row for Marc Denois’ men, who are well established at the top of the Western Conference and the league, and who are still unbeaten at home.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– A shock that causes disappointment. Victory against the Warriors it was already wide and impressive, and the next day, Grom did it again. Although we could have hoped for a big match, a quality clash, the game quickly revealed its truth. The reigning champion was several tones above and after only a few minutes the Lakers were out, overwhelmed, dominated. Too bad for the uncertainty.

– Terrible second quarter by the Lakers. The first quarter was no cakewalk for JJ Redick’s players, but it was still wide open. Twelve minutes later that was no longer the case. It must be said that starting this second quarter with 0/9 shooting and not very solid defense, the Californians did not offer themselves any options for existence. They lost 40-20 and thus abandoned any hope of victory.

– Ajay Mitchell’s confidence. It was clearly “SGA” who shined the most with his 30 points and 9 assists, but the Belgian continued to show confidence, taking his chance as soon as possible. In 26 minutes, he shot 13 times, for 6 successes. It wasn’t his best game (1/5 on 3-pointers), but he confirms it with his 14 points, to sink his teeth into opportunities offers the absence of Jaylen Williams.
