The Thunder plays toy with the Warriors

thunderous warriors

Thirteen points from the duo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Chet Holmgren (23 points, 11 rebounds) starts Thunder. Marc Daigneault’s men took advantage of four Golden State turnovers to take control of the match (21-14). The Warriors, however, respond in kind. They intercept three balls, and Jimmy Butler (12 points) goes on a 9-0 run that gives them the advantage (23-21). OKC, however, finished the first quarter strong. On the trailAjay Mitchell (17 points), they beat the opponent 13-2 (34-25).

A 3-pointer by Moses Moody (10 points) temporarily limits the damage, but the Thunder steamroller continues to roll. A defensive stop turns into a 3-pointer in the corner for Alex Caruso. Two more stops gave Chet Holmgren two points and a game-winning shot for Usman Dieng, forcing Steve Kerr to take a timeout (44-28).

Thunder makes the point

Two three-pointers by Will Richard (9 points) do not change the situation. Between their Golden State defensive mistakes and the Thunder’s defensive pressure, the gap continues to grow. Like Stephen Curry’s nose and no rhythm, the entire Warriors offense is struggling. In contrast, SGA’s teammates do what they want, and Chet Holmgren’s dunk gives them a 23-point lead (63-40).

The second half begins with the fourth and fifth fouls by Stephen Curry (11 points, 4/13 on shots) and the fourth by Draymond Green. Despite everything, Jimmy Butler’s burst allows Golden State to get back to -16 (72-56). The reigning champions, however, are responding like a boss. Their defense steps up and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Joe (18 points) outscore the Warriors 22-6 to take a 33-point lead (95-62)!

Jaylin Williams (12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists) and Ajay Mitchell match up and with a game in 24 hours against Webby and the Spurs, Steve Kerr raises the white flag early and high. The Thunder remain undefeated at home, the Warriors have lost their sixth straight on the road.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– The best defense in the league has the Warriors on their radar. Stephen Curry was limited to 11 points and 4/13 shooting, Jimmy Butler had only three shots, Jonathan Cummings had five turnovers, the Thunder’s defense once again gave a top performance tonight. Mark Daign’s men put the Warriors on fire, particularly in the second and third quarters, winning 73-47. The Dubs never found their rhythm, took fewer 3-pointers than usual, dominated the paint and lost a total of 21 turnovers.

– Free Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In just 28 minutes of play, last season’s MVP collected 28 points and 12 assists and recorded his second double-double of the season. Whether it was Jonathan Cumminga, Moses Moody or Gary Payton II, no Warrior was able to slow down or even make life difficult for SGA. This is his 84th game in a row with at least 20 points scored.

– Ousmane Dieng discreet. Still in the Thunder’s rotation with the absence of Lou Dort and Aaron Wiggins, the Frenchman had the right to eight minutes of play in the second quarter, as well as the entire fourth, which turned into “garbage”. Dieng finished the game with 5 points on 1/5 shooting and 1 rebound. Although he was more aggressive towards the end of the match, he spent a lot of time in the corners without touching the ball much.
