The Unsurprising Discovery of Aaron Rodgers-Nickelback Cam Hayward
Is that really surprising? Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers like nickelback? One of the Steelers veterans, Cam Heyward, recently discovered the quarterback’s fandom.
ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reports that Hayward they asked him what he had learned on Rodgers since the four-time NFL MVP joined the team.
“Well, he’s the oldest quarterback in the league,” Hayward began. “Huge Nickelback fan.”

Before Rodgers officially signed with the Steelers, Hayward made comments about him. It took some time for Rodgers to decide where he would sign — if anywhere — in free agency.
This did not sit well with Heyward. He was all over Rodgers’ antics, saying, “Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or not, it’s simple, that’s the point. If you want me to recruit, that’s recruiting. Pittsburgh Steelers, if you want to be a part of it, so be it; no, if you don’t skin me.”
However, he later apologized, claiming his “words were taken out of context”. He asked Rodgers how he felt about it on his Not Just Football podcast, and Rodgers admitted it “hurt”.
“I was hurt; yes, I was hurt,” Rodgers admitted. “You didn’t answer, you just wanted to make a statement to the media. You obviously had preconceived ideas about who I was. How has that changed in the last few months?”
Fortunately, the two have seemingly reconciled. Hayward recounted several instances of their association since the comments were made.
“It was good,” Hayward said of his perception of the Rodgers trade. “You came to my cookout; you came to my golf outing, I appreciate it,” Hayward said. “I’m going to say it all stems from last year. We’re going to the coin toss, and I say hi to you all. He’s like, ‘How old are you?’ I’m like this dude, he just asked me how old I was like he’s a spring chicken.”
Currently, the Steelers are 5-3 and are coming off a win against the Indianapolis Colts. They are in first place in the AFC North heading into their Sunday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Rodgers is currently tied for third in the NFL in passing touchdowns (17). He has 1,692 passing yards and only five interceptions.
